The Society for Institutional and Organizational Economics promotes rigorous theoretical and empirical investigation of the nature, behavior, and governance of organizations and institutions. Members of the Society use approaches drawn from various disciplines, including economics, law, political science, strategy, management, organization theory, and history. Through its annual conference and other activities, SIOE provides an opportunity to engage in conversation that spans fields, regions, and generations. The Society has historically attracted a diverse community of scholars from around the world. It makes a special effort to develop and encourage capacity for junior scholars working on institutions and organizations.
